Estadio Metropolitano: A Premier Venue in Madrid
Located in the heart of Madrid, the Estadio Metropolitano stands as a modern architectural marvel and a hub for sports and entertainment. Officially opened in 2017, this stadium serves as the home ground for Atltico de Madrid, one of Spain's most celebrated football clubs. The venue has a rich history, having replaced the original Estadio Metropolitano de Madrid, which was operational from 1923 until its closure in 2017.
The Estadio Metropolitano boasts a seating capacity of approximately 68,000, making it one of the largest stadiums in Europe. The seating arrangements are designed to provide optimal views from every angle, with various tiers including the lower tier, middle tier, and upper tier. For those seeking the best experience, seats in the central sections of the lower tier offer unparalleled proximity to the action.
This state-of-the-art facility hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including La Liga matches, UEFA competitions, and international fixtures. Additionally, it has been a venue for major concerts featuring world-renowned artists. The stadium's versatility makes it a prime location for both sports enthusiasts and music lovers alike.
Parking around the Estadio Metropolitano can be challenging during event days. It is advisable to arrive early to secure parking in designated areas nearby. Public transport options are also available, with easy access via metro lines that connect directly to the stadium. For those driving, consider using GPS navigation to avoid traffic congestion and ensure timely arrival.
Good show but some disappointment
After cancelling his initial show in July, we were really looking forward to seeing this new date in Toronto. I was disappointed by the talent chosen for the opening act since I think there are so many other options out there. The Weeknd himself put on an excellent performance and the stage theatrics were amazing. However the sound for the first five songs was horrific. I think the most disappointing part was that he ended at 10:45. Never really coming back or saying the show is over and not even giving us an encore. For so many that had to face the disappointment of his abrupt cancellation in July the least he could have done was come back for an encore and do a couple of songs.
